The firts day of the talent hunt programme, featuring trials in athletics, weightlifting and football (boys) will be conducted at the Kalinga Stadium. Trials in archery, basketball, football, gymnastics, kabaddi, swimming, wrestling, weightlifting and volleyball will follow at the same venue from July 25 to 27. Trial in hockey will take place at Sundargarh Stadium on July 29 and 30. Altogether 350 boys and girls, including 88 from Sundargarh alone, will face the trials to fill up 158 seats lying vacant in different sports hostels. As regards centres of excellence at Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Rourkela, young sportspersons with notable achievements will be allowed to participate in the trials, which will decide the fate of 22 vacancies.
