  OCA to develop infra facilities across the state

Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) will provide funds for development of infrastructure facilities across the state. In order to create a robust cricketing environment, the apex cricket body of the state has initiated a process of development of the best infrastructure for its affiliated units, OCA secretary Sanjay Behera stated in a press release today.

Facilities to be created include: one turf wicket for match, two turf wickets for practice, balls, equipments such as roller, grass cutting machine, pitch cutter, pitch Cover, dari, sprinkler, rope, net for two pitches and sight screen.

OCA is also intending to start non-residential academies its affiliated units, where budding cricketers will be provided quality practice and training by qualified coaches throughout the year. Coaches will be appointed by OCA.

OCA has formed an eight-member Ground Technical Committee for the purpose. The committee will be inspecting various venues across the state from 19 November, 2020, the release stated.

Ground Technical Committee: Dhiren Pallei (Chairman); Debasish Padhi, Subhasis Senapati, Santosh Das (all Members); Representative from Nirman Consultancy, Representative from Ingenious Creations, Daniel Rout (Co-ordinator, OCA), Hrusikesh Singh (OCA).
