Biju Yuva Janata Dal leader Rajesh Kumar Parida and Commonwealth powerlifting champion Samarendra Routray were elected as new president and secretary of the Khordha District Powerlifting Association (KDPA) for a five-year term on 25 December, 2020. This was informed by the district body in a press release today.

Parida replaced Chitta Ranjan Swain, while Routray succeeded Pradeep Kumar Patra in the elections held at Utkal Karate School in Bhubaneswar. Dr Hari Prasad Pattanayak and Chitta Ranjan Swain became technical director and advisor respectively.

Gouri Mohanty, Chandrasekhar Sahoo and Ranu Mohanty were elected as three vice-presidents. Similarly Chitta Ranjan Mishra and Shakti Ranjan Barik won as joint-secretaries, while Pradeep Kumar Patra became new treasurer. The new body decided to conduct the District championship at Utkal Karate School on January 22 and 23, 2021.
