  Rana Pratap, Priya Pratisruti emerge best shooters

Rana Pratap Brahma and Priya Pratisruti Behera emerged best male and female shooter respectively in the 9th Odisha State Shooting Championship, which concluded at Utkal Karate School in Bhubaneswar today. The five-day championship was organised by Orissa Rifle Association (ORA).

Brahma bagged two gold and one silver medals, while Priya pocketed one gold and one silver medals. Competition in point 22 rifle, point 22 pistol (25m) and point 32 centre fire events were held at Police Firing Range in Naraj (Cuttack) on January 1 and 2. This was followed by competitions in 10m ISSF rifle and pistol, 10m NR rifle and pistol events at Utkal Karate School Indoor Shooting Range in Bhubaneswar from January 3 to 5.

The closing ceremony was graced by ORA patron and National Rifle Association of India senior vice-president Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo as chief guest. Aul MLA Pratap Keshari Deb, Talcher yubraj Bijendra Chandra Deb and ORA secretary Hari Prasad Pattnaik were present on the occasion.

Senior Women: 1. Sthitaprajna Ray, 2. Priya Pratisruti Behera, 3. Gouri Mohanty. Veteran Men: 1. Pramod Chandra Sahoo, 2. Radhanath Mahapatra, 3. Dilip Jee.

Point 32 Centre Fire Pistol: Junior Men: 1. Karmanya Pratap Deb, 2. Ayush Chandra Deb. Senior Men: 1. Rana Pratap Brahma, 2. Akash Kumar Lohar, 3. Binay Kumar Acharya. Veteran Men: 1. Radhanath Mahapatra, 2. Dilip Jee.

Point 177 Air Rifle (Open Sight): Junior Men: 1. Ayushman Naik, 2. Amit Nanda, 3. Swayamdev Pattnaik. Junior Women: 1. Saina Sahu, 2. P Sai Laxmi, 3. Smaranika Pal. Senior Men: 1. Rana Pratap Brahma, 2. Tulu Sen, 3. Atish Naik. Senior Women: 1. Beena Thapa.

Point 177 Air Rifle (NR): Junior Men: 1. Shreyash Dibyadarshan Mishra, 2. Somesh Kumar Bindhani, 3. Siddharth Ganesan. Junior Women: 1. Abhilipsa Patra, 2. Tanishka Samant, 3. Ananya Bakshi.
