  Bhubaneswar-A are Inter-Dist U-19 cricket champions

Bhubaneswar-A became champions of the OCA Under-19 Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament, defeating Cuttack-A in the final by six wickets at DRIEMS Ground in Tangi, near, Cuttack today. Bhubaneswar-A allrounder Sambit S Baral was adjudged man of the match for taking three wickets and hitting an unbeaten 28.

Opting to bat after captain Shashang Rungata won the toss, Cuttack-A were bowled out for a modest total of 151. Rungata was the top scorer with 47 runs. Ansuman Bej and Ashutosh Nayak were other two successful bowlers for Bhubaneswar-A, taking three wickets each.


Chasing 152 for victory, Bhubaneswar-A romped home in 38.3 overs, losing four wickets in the process. MG Gopal was the highest scorer for the winners, hitting an 80-ball 44. Sai Subham also made an unbeaten contribution of 31.

DRIEMS Chairman Pramod Chandra Rath graced presentation ceremony as chief guest and handed over the trophy. Odisha Cricket Association president Pankaj Lochan Mohanty and CEO Subrat Kumar Behera were present on the occasion.
