Shresth Singh continued his stupendous bowling success in the ongoing OCA Inter-District U-19 Boys Cricket Tournament as he bagged seven wickets for three runs to propel Sambalpur to a 79-run win over Mayurbhanj at Ravenshaw University Ground-1 in Cuttack today. This was the third successive win for Sambalpur and they finished at the top of their group.
Bhubaneswar-A and Cuttack-A also registered hat-trick of wins, defeating Nuapada and Sonepur by eight wicket identical margin. Ritesh Priyaranjan was the architech of the Bhubaneswar-A win, capturing four wickets for five runs. Cuttack-A owed their win to Charcheet K Behera, who scalped five wickets for 14 runs.
Kendrapara, Balangir and Cuttack-B posted wins in three other preliminary league matches of the day. Among notable individual performers of the day, Basudev Malla claimed five wickets for two runs in Kendrapara win. Similarly, Cuttack-B bowler Manoranjan Das bagged four wickets for 17 runs against Deogarh.
