  Pratik, Aditi win State U-8 Online chess titles

Khordha girl Aditi Moharana and Cuttack boy Pratik Kushal Rout emerged champions in the Odisha State Under-8 Open & Girls Online Chess Championship which concluded on 31 August, 2021.

Aditi clinched the title in girls category, winning all of her four matches. Pratik claimed the open title, also with full five points. A total of 15 players, including five in girls category participated in the championship which was organised by All Odisha Chess Association (AOCA).

The two day championships was inaugurated AOCA Secretary Debarata Bhatta. Joint-Secretary Bidhu Bhusan Mishra, treasurer Shankar Prasad Mishra, Chief Arbiter Suresh Chandra Sahoo, were present on the occasion.

Top two players from each category became eligible to represent Odisha in the National U-8 Open & Girls Online Chess Championship, scheduled be held from 10 to 12 September 2021.

OPEN CATEGORY: 1. Pratik Kushal Rout, Cuttack (5 pts), 2. Debapriya Biswal, Sundargarh (4), 3. Manish Mishra, Khordha (3), 4. Smarak Patnaik, Keonjhar (2.5), 5. Dibyanshu Mohapatra, Khordha (2.5).

GIRLS CATEGORY: 1. Aditi Moharana, Khordha (4), 2. Subhasmita Priyadarshini, Khordha (3), 3. Gursheen Kaur, Jharsuguda (2).
