  Para Masters National Games: Bisoyee, Behera win 3 gold

Odisha para-badminton players Deep Ranjan Bisoyee and Amarendra Behera won three gold medals in 1st Para Masters National Indoor Games, which was organised by Para Masters Games Federation India at VKN Menon Indoor Stadium in Thrussur, Kerala from 1 to 3 September, 2021.

Bhubaneswar-based Bisoyee won one gold medal in 35+ mens singles SL4 category, defeating Jitno Jikkus Thomas of Kereala 21-12, 21-8 in the final. Talcher shuttler Behera secured one gold medal in 40+ mens singles SL3 category, beating Dasaratha Khadayat of Uttarakhand in the final 21-15, 21-5.

Bisoyee and Behera won the other gold together in mens doubles SL3-SL4 category, getting the better of Amol Sankana and Yogesh Power 21-7, 21-8 in the summit clash. Prizes were given away by Kerala Higher Education and Social Service Minister Dr R Bindu.

The Para Masters National Indoor Games served as the basis for selection of Indian squad for the World Para Masters Games, scheduled to be held next year in Kansai, Japan.
