Bhubaneswar-A, Nayagarh, Bhubaneswar-B, Balangir and Puri registered wins in respective preliminary league matches of the Inter-District U-16 Boys Cricket Tournament at different ground in Bhubaneswar, Khordha and Jatni today. An unbeaten century by Mrityunjay Mohapatra of Khordha went in vain as their match against Nuapada was abandoned due to rain.
Among successful batsmen of the day, Avishek Mahanta (Bhubaneswar-A) slammed an unconquered century (130), while Janmejoy Sahoo (Bhubaneswar-A), Mrutyunjay Prakash (Bhubaneswar-B) and Samarpet Patel (Balangir) hit a half-century apiece.
As many as four bowlers bagged five wickets each. They were Pratik Swain (Bhubaneswar-A), Biswajeet Pradhan (Nayagarh), Vishal Kumar (Bhubaneswar-B) and Deba Ranasingh (Puri).
