Bhubaneswar sprinter Amiya Kumar Mallick and his coach Nila Madhav Deo have been nominated to receive the Ashok Patnaik Memorial Sports Award as the best young athlete and best coach respectively for the year 2008. R D Youth Club of Sundargarh has been chosen to receive the best sports organisation of the year for promoting hockey in rural areas. Instituted in the year 2000, the awards for the current year will be presented in a function to be held at Sahid Sporting ground here on August 18.
