Bidanasi Club edged past Young Utkal Club 5-3, via penalty shoot-out in the fourth and last quarterfinals of the FAO Super Cup Football Tournament at National Rice Research Institute (NRRI) Ground, Bidyadharpur, Cuttack today.

The match went to the shoot-out stage after play in the regulation time ended in goalless draw. With this win Bidanasi Club joined Rising Star Club, Jay Durga Club and Sunrise Club in the semifinals.

Altogether eight teams from FAO First Division League are competing in the FAO Super Cup. The eight teams include top four from Diamond Group, top three from Gold Group and the top one from Silver Group.

Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Souvic Biswal was the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the FAO Super Cup. NRRI Director Dr Bhaskar Chandra Patra, Principal Scientists Dr MJ Baig and Dr Amaresh Kumar Nayak, FAO Secretary Asirbad Behera and Odisha Olympic Association Secretary Avijit Paul were present on the occasion.

RESULTS:

September 11 (Match 1): Sunrise Club (Arpan Lakra 3rd, Rahan Brahma 59th, Mahesh Pradhan 71st) beat Kishore Club (Ankit Behera 80+1) 3-1.
September 12 (Match 2): Jay Durga Club beat Radha Raman Club 4-3 in shoot-out (Regulation time 0-0 draw. Shoot-out scorers: SL Pato, Deepak Digal, Sunil Sardar, Karthik Munda (all Jay Durga) and Rahil P, Binay Kishan, O Timothy (all Radha Raman).
September 13 (Match 3): Rising Star Club beat Odisha Sports Hostel 3-1 in shoot-out (Regulation time 0-0). Shootout scorers: Manoj Santa, Abhinash Muduli, Jayant Mahto (all Rising Star) and Pintu Samal (Sports Hostel).
September 14 (Match 4): Bidanasi Club beat Young Utkal Club 5-3 in penalty shoot-out (Regulation time 0-0 draw). Shoot-out scorers: Asish Pradhan, Rajesh Nayak, Biltu Devnath, Chandan Dash, Chinmay Behera (al Bidanasi Club). Babul Rout, Bapuni Bindhani, Rakesh Sahoo (all Young Utkal Club).
