Politicians, bureaucrats, corporate executives and mediamen took a break from their working life to play an exhibition football tournament at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar today. The three-match event, featuring festivity and keen contest, was inaugurated by Tata Steel vice-president (Orissa Project) B K Singh. Host Tata XI emerged champions, defeating Politicians`` XI 2-0 in the final. Earlier in the semifinals, Politicians`` XI edged out Bureaucrats`` XI 3-2, while Tata XI overcame a fighting Media XI 1-0 in the dying seconds (1-0). ``Dharitri``editor Tathagat Satpathy gave away the trophy at the closing function.
