  Nagesh Trophy: Rain ends Odisha journey in semifinals

Rain played spoil sport as the journey of Odisha Men Team in the 5th Nagesh Trophy National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind ended in a heartbreak today. Odisha finished third the tournament after their semifinal match against Karnataka was abandoned due to rain at Ayr Cricket Gound in Hyderabad.

As per the rules of the tournament, Karnataka qualified for the final as they were Group-A toppers at the Super-Eight stage, while Odisha were runners-up. In the final tomorrow, Karnataka will meet Andhra Pradesh, who beat Gujarat by eight wickets in their semifinal clash today.

The Odisha-Karnataka semifinal contest was abandoned as rain stopped play with Kanataka going strong at 117 for two in 11 overs. Lokesha and Prakash Jayaramaiah were batting on 78 and 12 respectively. Earlier, Odisha captain Sukhram Majhi won the toss and opted to bowl. Odisha team received a cash award of Rs 50,000 for finishing third in the tournament.
