A 27-member Odisha contingent left Bhubaneswar today to compete in the 21st National Para Athletics Championship, which is set to take place at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune, Maharashtra from 17 to 20 March 2023.
The contingent, announced by Para Sports Association of Odisha (PSAO), features 19 para athletes, two coaches, one manager, two guide runners and three assistants. Woman international Jayanti Behera is the star of the continent.
A send off ceremony for the contingent was organised by PSAO at Kalinga Stadium earlier in the day. Sports & Youth Services Department (DSYS) Joint-Secretary Sailendra Kumar Jena, Under Secretary Rajendra Pani and PSAO President Kamala Kanta Rath were present on the occasion.
