Captain-cum-stumper Aashirwad Swain hit an unbeaten 92 and held four catches to spearhead Odisha to a seven-wicket win over Rajasthan in their fourth Group-D match of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy U-19 Mens Cricket Tournament at CAP Ground-4 in Puducherry today.
Chasing a target of 209, Odisha romped home in 48.1 overs, losing three wickets. Opening the innings, Swain slammed nine boundaries in his 128-ball unconquered knock of 92. All the top-order Odisha batters were among runs with P Sasanka and in-form Shreyansh Bhardwaj making notable contributions of 41 and 35 respectively.
Earlier, electing to bat, Rajasthan folded up for 208. Among successful Odisha bowlers, Sreeraj Pattanaik and Sayed Tufayl Ahmad bagged three wickets each, while Swoop Bhuyan picked up a brace.
This was the third successive win for Odisha, who earlier beat Arunachal Pradesh by seven wickets and Saurashtra by nine runs, after losing their opening match against Chhattisgarh by three wickets. Odisha will play their fifth and last league match on October 20.
