Odisha boy Aahaan Mishra achieved a notable international success of his career by finishing doubles runners-up with Bangladesh partner Jawad Mohammad Bhuyan at the Asian U14 Tennis Tournament in Dhaka, Bangladesh today.
Aahaan and Jawad put up a fighting performance in the final before going down to Bangladesh combination of Md Tanvir Muntushar and Md Rajib 5-7, 6-4, 14-16. The marathon final lasted for more than two hours.
Bhubaneswar teenager Aahan also participated in the singles event of the continental tournament. He lost in the quarterfinals and secured fifth position. Aahaan will get 90 ranking points from this tournament.
Currently Aahan stands 530 in the Asian U14 rankings and after adding the 90 points Aahan is expecting to reach to the top 250 in the upcoming ranking list. This is the second Asian ranking tournament for Aahan, who is a trainee of Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) Academy and trains under senior coach Santosh Mallik.
