Bhubaneswar shuttlers asserted their supremacy in the State Badminton Championship, bagging three out of four titles at NTPC Recreation Centre, Kaniha (Talcher) today. Monalisa Mohanty and Sarthak Patnaik bagged a double for Sahid Nagar Indoor Badminton Centre by emerging champions in sub-junior girls and junior boys singles events respectively. Monalisa retained the title, defeating Punyashree Das of Cuttack 21-17, 21-10 in a repeat of last year`s final. Sarthak faced stiff opposition against his training-mate Roshan Mishra before winning the title clash 21-19, 21-18. The women`s singles title also went to Bhubaneswar with A G Orissa employee Gayatri outplaying Sujata Sahu of Bhadrak 21-5, 21-11. H Appa Rao lifted the men`s singles crown for the first time, beating his East Coast Railway-mate K N Raju in an all-Sambalpur final 21-13, 21-13.
