  KIUG 2025: Pratyasa, Divyanka continue swimming glory

Odisha women swimming luminaries Pratyasa Ray and Divyanka Dibyajyoti Pradhan maintained their winning streak in the ongoing the 5th Khelo India University Games, adding one individual silver and one bronze respectively on the fourth day at Sawai Mansingh Stadium Complex in Jaipur, Rajasthan today.

Representing Utkal University, Pratyasa secured the silver in womens 200m freestyle with a time of 2:15.30s. This was the fourth medal for international swimmer Pratyasa, who bagged two gold and one bronze earlier on the second and third day. Interestingly, Pratyasa has single-handedly carried Utkal University to the ninth spot in the medal tally so far.

 

KIIT Deemed to be University swimmer Divyanka won the bronze medal in womens 200m butterfly, clocking 2:39.59s. This was the third individual medal for Divyanka, who earlier claimed one silver and one bronze. She was also part of the KIIT team that captured one bronze in womens 4x100m medley relay today with a time of 4:50.11s.

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) bagged another individual bronze medal today through Nilabjaa Ghosh who grabbed it in womens 100m butterfly, clocking 1:06.41s. KIIT now occupies the 16th spot in the medal tally with one gold, one silver and seven bronze in its kitty. Swimmers have made KIIT proud, garnering all the nine medals so far.

With four medals today, the tally of Odisha universities has become 14, which include three gold, three silver and eight bronze. Besides the four medals by Utkal and nine by KIIT, Berhampur University has secured one silver through weightlifter Rinki Nayak in womens 48kg category.
