Woman cyclist Khoirom Rejiya Devi won the gold medal for Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) on the sixth day of the 5th Khelo India University Games in Jaipur, Rajasthan today. She secured the gold, the only medal for Odisha universities, in women elite 3 km individual pursuit in track cycling with a time of 04:15.021.
Originally from Manipur, Rejiya has been representing Odisha in National championships since 2024. She has the reputation of winning medals for her adopted state in the Senior National Championship and National Games.
The gold by Rejiya increased the the total number of medals for KIIT to 14 (5 Gold, 1 Silver, 8 Bronze). KIIT now stands eighth in the overall medal tally. Four universities from Odisha have bagged a total of 21 medals at the KIUG 2025 so far.
Among other medal-winning Odisha universities, Utkal follows KIIT with five medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze). Berhampur University and Rama Devi Womens University have secured one silver and one bronze respectively.
