  KI Beach Games: Odisha women win successive soccer gold

Odisha womens beach soccer team made the state proud by winning back-to-back gold medals in the Khelo India Beach Games (KIBG) today. The 12-member Odisha team retained the crown in the second edition of the KIBG, defeating Gujarat 2-1 in the well-contested final at Ghoghla Beach in Diu today. Manisha Naik and substitute Khundongbam Ambalika scored the two goals for Odisha.

ODISHA TEAM: Sasmita Parida (GK), Shibani Mundari (Captain), Srijana Tamang, Satyabati Khadia, Manisha Naik, Manju Ganghu (GK), Sradhanjali Panda, Susmita Tanty, Prangya Kishan, Ankita Naik, Sumitra Hembram, Khundongbam Ambalika. Coach: Gitanjali Khuntia, Manager: Gomati Bara, Physio: Lopamudra Maharaj.

5 January 2026 (League match): Odisha (Satyabati Khadia 5 goals, Srijana Tamang 2 goals, Manisha Naik 1 goal, Ankita Naik 1 goal, Shibani Mundari 1 goal, Sumitra Hembram 1 goal) beat Maharashtra (?) 11-3.

7 January 2026 (League match): Odisha (Manisha Naik 3, 5, 25, 32, 35, Satyabati Khadia 18, 24, Prangya Kishan 20) beat Arunachal Pradesh (Yani Yorung 9, Bahila Ngadong 24, 31, Giani Ramching Mara 29-P) 8-4.

8 January 2026 (Semifinal): Odisha (Srijana Tamang 3, 16, Satyabati Khadia 4, 33, Manisha Naik 23, Khundongbam Ambalika 25, 29) beat Himachal Pradesh 7-0.

9 January 2026 (Final): Odisha (Manisha Naik 13, Khundongbam Ambalika 28) beat Gujarat (Bhumisha Dravid 14) 2-1.
