  Kalahandi Cup Cricket: Lalu, Swoop, Priyansu shine

Bhubaneswar-B, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Rourkela, Keonjhar, Kalahandi and Cuttack-A registered wins in respective preliminary league matches of the OCA Senior Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament for Kalahandi Cup at different grounds today. Lalu Mohanty and Priyansu Mohanty claimed five wickets each for Puri and Cuttack-A respectively. 

Swoop S Bhuyan shone with both bat and ball for Rourkela, taking three wickets and scoring a half-century. Odisha Ranji team players Sambit Baral, Subhranshu Senapati, Anil Parida, Biplab Samantray, Rajesh Dhupar and Badal Biswal also performed well for respective district teams.

Match 46: (Ravenshaw Ground-2): Bhadrak 190/10 in 45.2 overs (Akash Mohapatra 69; Sambit S Baral 4/44) lost to Bhubaneswar-B 191/4 in 33.5 overs (Raghunath Malla 71; Ayush Sutar 69*; Nihar B Bhuyan 2/32) by 6 wickets. PoM: Sambit S Baral.

Match 47 (Adaspur ground): Mayurbhanj 164/9 in 29 overs (Abhigyan Mohanty 76; Milan Samal 4/31) beat Angul 155/10 in 28.2 overs (Subhrajyoti Mishra 45; Purab R Nandha 3/20, Preetpal Singh 3/29) by 9 runs. PoM: Preetpal Singh.

Match 48 (Railway Ground, Jatni): Bargarh 141/10 in 45.1 overs (Satish K Minz 53; Lalu Mohanty 5/20) lost to Puri 142/6 in 32 overs (Mayank Pattanayak 59; Rohit Singh 3/27) by 4 wickets. PoM: Lalu Mohanty.

Match 49 (BJB School Ground, Khordha): Balasore 202/9 in 36 overs (Nauttam Bhanja 47; Swoop S Bhuyan 3/21) lost to Rourkela 205/6 in 35.2 overs (Swoop S Bhuyan 64; Sarbeswar Mohanty 2/30) by 4 wickets. PoM: Swoop S Bhuyan.

Match 50 (DRIEMS Cricket Ground): Keonjhar 298/9 in 49 overs (Subhranshu Senapati 94, Biswajit Jena 55; Arun Moharana 3/68) beat Jagatsinghpur 128/10 in 31.2 overs (Soubhagya Mishra 63; Soyanshu Pattanayak 4/26) by 170 runs. PoM: Subhranshu Senapati.

Match 51 (Sunshine Ground): Kalahandi 164/10 in 37.1 overs (Dinesh Kumar Majhi 51; Subhasis Palo 4/24, Rasmi R Sahoo 3/34) beat Kandhamal 163/10 in 42.4 overs (Subhasis Palo 43; Subham Dash 4/32 , Sukhmeet Gill 3/38) by 1 run. PoM: Subham Dash.

Match 52 (MGM Ground): Cuttack -A 329/7 in 50 overs (Anil Parida 91, Biplab Samantray 64, Bikram K Samal 62, Rajesh Dhupar 56; Abhijit Mohapatra 4/61) beat Paradeep 153/10 in 43.5 overs (Saswat Mohanty 47; Priyansu Mohanty 5/45) by 176 runs. PoM: Priyansu Mohanty.
