Odisha swimmers ended their campaign on a glorious note, reaping a rich harvest of 16 medals, including five on the fourth day, in the 1st Khelo India Tribal Games (KITG) at the International Swimming Pool in Raipur, Chhattisgarh today. The 16 medals featured seven gold, one silver and eight bronze.
With weightlifting fetching one silver today and seven in total, the overall tally for Odisha climbed up to 23. Odisha continued to hold the second spot in the overall medals tally with nine gold, four silver and 10 bronze.
Odisha women swimmers clinched all the three gold medals on offer on the fourth day to emerge team champions with 102 points. Odisha won the three gold medals through Ritika Minz (100m freestyle, 1:12.93s), Anjali Munda (50m backstroke, 36.37s) and 4x100 medley relay team. Anjali emerged as the most successful Odisha athlete with five gold medals, including four in individual events.
