Odisha paralympian Pramod Bhagat bagged one gold and one bronze medal at the British & Irish Para Badminton International, which was held in Dublin, Ireland from 24 to 28 June 2026. He won the gold medal in mens singles SL3 category, defeating compatriot Nitesh Kumar in an all-Indian final 23-21, 21-14 in 44 minutes.
Bhagat secured the bronze medal in mixed doubles SL3-SU5 category with Indian parner Manisha Ramadass. They lost in the semifinals against Indonesian pair of Fredy Setiawan and Khalimatus Sadiyah 21-10, 11-21, 17-21.
Speaking after his singles victory, Bhagat said: "Every tournament is an opportunity to test myself and improve. Nitesh played exceptionally well, especially in the opening game, and I had to stay patient and believe in my game. I am happy to come away with the gold medal. This victory gives me confidence, but the focus remains on continuing to improve and preparing for the bigger challenges ahead."
