Odisha boys team reached quarterfinals before going down to Maharashtra 0-13. Odisha boys reached the last-eight stage, defeating Uttarakhand 12-0, Delhi 6-0 and Manipur 11-0. Odisha boy Suraj Hansdah was awarded as the best runner of the championship. Odisha girl Arjya Behera bagged the award as the best batter.
The closing ceremony was graced by Hockey India president Dillip Kumar Tirkey, Odisha Olympic Association president Samir Mohanty, Amateur Baseball Federation of India (ABFI) president Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, Secretary General Arvind Kumar, Baseball Association of Odisha chairman Niranjan Patnaik, president Dr Prabodh Mohanty, secretary Sibananda Pradhan and convenor Dr Anjan Kumar Khuntia.
ABFI president Pankaj Lochan Mohanty was felicitated in recognition of his outstanding contribution for the promotion of baseball in India. Earlier on May 24, the six-day championship was declared open by KIIT & KISS founder Prof Achyuta Samanta.
