Students of Bhubaneswar Region returned home today, bagging rich haul of 66 medals in the 39th Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) National Sports Meet, which concluded held at Hyderabad on October 18. The medals included 29 golds, 25 silvers and 12 bronzes. Bhubaneswar Region, comprising 64 Kendriya Vidyalayas of Orissa and Jharkhand, finished overall runners-up in boys category. The region claimed the boys` team championships in athletics, judo, kho-kho and cricket (under-16) and finished runners-up in girls` tennis and table tennis. M D Sahoo led the contingent with R N Routray and H C Rout as coordinators. The region`s Assistant Commissioner DTS Rao congratulated the medallists and promised better facilities for sports in Kendriya Vidyalayas of the region.
