* On June 18, 2014, Government Odisha sanctioned in his favour a monetary incentive of Rs 65,000, which included Rs 15,000 for participation in the Asian Youth Chess Championship at New Delhi in August 2009 and Rs 50,000 for participation in the 50th World Junior Chess Championship at Chennai in August 2011.
* Learned the game by playing against sisters from a toy chess set that came free with a health drink packet.
