*     He was chief secretary of the state twice, first for one month in 1983 and then for a year in 1986.
*     Son of eminent scientist Dr Pranakrushna Parija, LI Parija was conferred D Litt by Ravenshaw University for his intrinsic dexterity and proficiency in resolving acute administrative riddles.
*     His son Jagatendu Parida played CK Nayudu Trophy for Odisha.
*     Authored a book titled ‘Fate Takes A Hand’ which was released on March 20, 2019.

*     Also served as Chairman, Orissa Public Service Commission.
