AWARDS/HONOURS:
*    Became the first sportsperson from Odisha and first woman cyclist of the country to bag Arjuna Award in 1980.
*    Received the Biju Patnaik State Sports Award for Life-time Achievement in 2006.


MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS IN CYCLING:
*     Eight-time National champion in cycling, from 1972 to 1979.
*     Won five gold medals in the Indo-Sri Lanka Cycling Series in 1979.
*     Won bronze medal in Junior Womens 1000m mass-start event of the 24th National Games at Cuttack in January, 1970. The broze was the only medal host Odisha could get from the Games.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS IN ATHLETICS:
*     Won womens 400m silver medal at the State Athletics Meet, Cuttack, 1970.
*     Also won medals in high jump at State, University level competitions.
*     Legendary woman high jumper Usharani Mishra was her contemporary in athletics.

OTHER NOTABLE INFORMATION:
*     Suffered knee injury in February, 2020 and underwent surgery. Also suffered leg injury earlier in 2018.
*     Her elder son Debajyoti runs a law institute, named Legal Sapiens and younger Subhrajyoti works at ICICI Bank in Mumbai.
*     Nominated as the Chairman, Women Commission, Cycling Federation of India on 23 June, 2019.
*     Her husband Prakash Chandra Das worked at Rourkela Steel Plant as General Manager.
*     Attended the Delhi Commonwealth Games
as Government observer for cycling, October, 2010.

Attended the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China as Government observer for cycling, November 12 to 27, 2010.
*     She was Sambalpur Univeristy champion for four years.
