*     Originally to be scheduled from 24 May to 7 June, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was moved to 27 September to 11 October.
*     Rafael Nadal is the twelve-time champion in mens singles.
*     Ashleigh Barty was the defending champion in womens singles, but chose not to defend her title following concerns over the ongoing pandemic.
*     It will be the 124th edition of the French Open and the last Grand Slam event of 2020.
