DESCRIPTION:
*     Indian Women League (IWL) is the top division professional women football club competition in India.
*     The inaugural edition of IWL was held in Cuttack in 2016.
*     Matches of the ensuing edition will be played at three venues in Bhubaneswar.
*     Venues are: Kalinga Stadium, OSAP 7th Battalion Ground and Capital High School Ground.
*     A total of 12 best teams will fight it out for the IWL trophy.
*     Rising Students Club of Cuttack won the title in the season 2017-18.
*     The champions of the ensuing edition will get the chance to play in the next edition of the AFC Womens Club Championship.
*     Defending Champions Gokulam Kerala FC, who also join the league as the champions of Kerala, will also be joined by the champion teams from 10 other states.
*     Other 11 teams in the fray are: Odisha Police (Odisha), Hans Women FC (Delhi), Kickstart FC Karnataka (Karnataka), Gokulam Kerala FC (Kerala), Sethu Madurai (Tamil Nadu), PIFA Sports Colaba FC (Maharashtra), Mata Rukmani FC (Chhattisgarh), Sirvodem Sports Club (Goa), Indian Arrows (AIFF’s Developmental Team), SSB Women FC (West Bengal), Sports Odisha (Odisha) and ARA FC (Ahmedabad Racquet Academy Football Club).
*     The qualifiers of the IWL took place in New Delhi from April 1 to 5, where four clubs – Guwahati City FC, Golazo FC, ARA FC, and YWC fought it out at the Ambedkar Stadium, in a round robin format with the top team proceeding to the tournament proper.
*     The Hero Indian Women League (IWL) will be broadcast live on Eurosport India.
*     A total of 66 matches will be played throughout the season with every team playing each other once
*     Eurosport will be airing 30 matches.
*     The team with the most points in the league table at the end of the season will be crowned champions.
