SALIENT FEATURES:
#     In total, 44 matches will be played, with the Final scheduled on 29 January in Bhubaneswar.
#     A total of 20 matches will take place at the the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, which has a seating capacity of over 20,000.
#     Kalinga Hockey Stadium in Bhubaneswar which has a sitting capacity of over 15,000, will host 24 matches, including cross-overs, quarterfinals, semifinals, and the World Cup final.
#     India have been placed in Pool D with England, Spain and Wales.
#     Chile and Wales have qualified for the Mens World Cup for the very first time.
#     Belgium are the current World Cup champions, having defeated the Netherlands in the final of the 2018 edition.
#     Netherlands has played the most matches (100) in Men’s Hockey World Cup till date (2022).
#     Australia has not only won most matches (69), but has scored most goals (305).
#      FIH Mens World Cup was first held in 1971.
#     FIH Odisha Hockey Mens World Cup 2023 will be the 15th edition of the quadrennial event.
#     The Hockey World Cup was first conceived by Air Marshal Nur Khan of Pakistan.
#     The Hockey World Cup trophy was designed by the Bashir Moojid and created in 1971by the Pakistani Army.
#     The trophy stands at 650 mm with its base and weighs 11,560 gm including 895 gm gold, 6,815 gm silver, 350 gm ivory and 3,500 gm teak.
#     It consists of a cup made up of gold and silver with intricate floral design and presents a hockey stick and ball atop a globe.
#     Pakistan is the most successful team having won the title four times (1971, 1978, 1982, 1994).
#     The Netherlands (1973, 1990, 1998) and Australia (1986, 2010, 2014) have won three titles each.
#     Germany have won the title twice (2002, 2006), while India (1975) and Belgium (2018) have emerged champions once each.
#      India also won a silver medal once in 1973 at Amstelveen, Netherlands and a bronze medal once in 1971 at Barcelona, Spain.
#     Belgium won the previous edition of the FIH Mens World Cup, defeating Netherlands in a penalty shoot-out 3–2 after the final match ended in a 0–0 draw at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar on 16 December 2018.
*     India finished sixth at the 2018 World Cup in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
#     Spain (2 silver, 1 bronze), England (1 silver) and Argentina (1 bronze) are the other three countries to have won a World Cup silver or bronze medal.
#     Aussies have won the highest number of 10 medals, which features 3 gold, 2 gold and 5 bronze.
#     India and Netherlands have been joint-leaders in hosting the FIH Mens World Cup three times each, followed by Malaysia twice, Spain, Argentina, England, Pakistan, Australia and Germany once each.
#     Only the Netherlands (1973 and 1998) and Germany (2006) have won the tournament as hosts.
#     Germany, India, Netherlands and Spain share the record of most appearances in Mens FIH World Cup with 14 times each.
#     A total of 27 countries have featured in the FIH Mens World Cup so far.
#     Kuala Lumpur is the only city to have hosted the FIH Mens World Cup twice.
#     The World Cup was held biennially from 1971 to 1975.
#     The 4th edition was held in 1978 and the following editions since then have been held once every four years starting from 1982.
#     The FIH Odisha Hockey Mens World Cup 2023 will be the first time a nation has played host to the World Cup for two successive editions.
#     The 14 editions of Mens Hockey World Cup, featuring a total of 605 matches, produced a whopping 2,433 goals.
