DESCRIPTION:
* A total of 24 teams, including host India, will compete in this Junior World Cup, which was first held in 1979.
* Hockey India has announced an 18-member Indian hockey team, including three from Odisha for this World Cup.
* The three Odisha players are: Anmol Ekka, Adrohit Ekka and Rosan Kujur.
* Rohit Kullu, another player from Odisha, has been named as one of two alternate players.
* Placed in Pool B, India will play their opening match against Chile on November 28.
* They will take on Oman on November 29 and Switzerland on December 2.
* Quarterfinals will take place on December 5, followed by semifinals on December 7 and the final on December 10.
* Germany is the most successful team, having won the tournament seven times followed by Argentina and India, having won the tournament two times.
* Australia and Pakistan have each won the tournament once.
* India has, so far, won two gold (2001, 2016) and one silver (1997) medals.
